Buddha’s Hands Lemons


They are the strangest type of lemons you might have ever seen in your entire life. It is neither round, nor oblong, nor oval. Its appearance is like fingers or a flower of yellow carrots. Besides its weird appearance, it has lots of similarities to other lemons. Its rind is bumpy and thick, and it has fewer seeds in it. The taste of its pitch is sweet, unlike many different types of lemons. It tastes similar to grapefruits. However, its pulp is slightly sour, which is evident as it is a lemon. Meyer Lemons

Though their origin is China, they were named after Frank Nicholas Meyer, an explorer from the US Department of Agriculture. He traveled to China for research purposes related to agriculture and came back with these Chinese lemons. These tart-flavored Meyer lemons are good for seafood seasoning. Besides, it is a hybrid fruit of citron and mandarin. Their abundant supply comes from China, the US, Italy, and Spain mostly.


Ponderosa Lemon


Have you ever seen a lemon of size larger than even a tangerine? Ponderosa lemons are among the most gigantic lemons in the world. Their extremely large size and unusual shape make them appear like a yellow tangerine and a pear. Besides their size, they have tender and juicy flesh. It makes Ponderosa lemons famous in Maryland, the US. Some call it a hybrid of citron and pomelo. That is why they are much different from a normal lemon. They have thick rinds and sweet-tart flavor. They are grown only in Italy because of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). Their name Amalfi was given from their origin, Amalfi coast, Italy. Pink Variegated Lemons


With spectacular rind and unusual pulp color, pink variegated lemons are another unique type on the list. They have yellow and green stripes, which gives them the texture of dracaena plant leaves. Avalon Lemons

Assam Lemons
